The Parks and Recreation Department manages and maintains the public parks, community centers, sports fields, cemeteries and other recreational facilities throughout the City of Hattiesburg. With a mission to enhance the quality of life for Hattiesburg’s citizens by providing recreational activities, beautiful parks, user-friendly facilities and attractive community centers in safe, enjoyable environments.

This department also provides league play and tournaments in several competitive sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and football – along with a variety of innovative programming for ages 18 – 65. 

 

Summer Camp 2025

Registration is now open for the City of Hattiesburg’s Summer Camp, hosted by Parks and Recreation. The camp runs for five weeks beginning the first week of June. Children can attend for just one week or for the full five-week session. The cost is $30 per child per week, or $150 for all five weeks. The camp is open to children ages 5–12.

Each week will feature a different theme focused on fun, learning and recreation. Campers will also have the chance to swim at city pools, with optional swim lessons provided by the YMCA. Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily.
