Hattiesburg, Mississippi – Today, Mayor Toby Barker and city officials gathered at City Hall to announce several events for the upcoming Mardi Gras season. The 2024 festivities promise to be more vibrant and memorable than before, with new traditions and events being added to this year’s itinerary.
A glimpse of the 2024 Mardi Gras event calendar includes:
- Krewe of St. Catherine 2nd Annual Roll & Stroll Parade and Block Party – Friday, Feb. 2 | 7 p.m. | Downtown Hattiesburg
- Mardi Gras Mambo Pub Crawl – Saturday, Feb. 3 | 1 p.m. | Downtown Hattiesburg
- Carnaval Brasileiro, presented by MS Latinx Art Association – Saturday, Feb. 3 | 8 p.m. | Fat Cat
- Mardi Gras Scholarship Ball, hosted by the Krewe of Lumiere and The Good Vibe Foundation – Friday, Feb. 9 | 7 p.m. | Lake Terrace Convention Center (SOLD OUT)
- Hattiesburg Caerus Mardi Gras Parade – Saturday, Feb. 10 | 4 p.m. | Midtown
Barker encouraged Hattiesburg residents and visitors of all ages to join in on the colorful celebrations and watch the streets of Hattiesburg come alive with music, art, parades and costumed revelers.
“Hattiesburg has long enjoyed events, parades and culture surrounding Mardi Gras,” Barker said. “In recent years, many of our citizens and businesses have created new traditions for the community to enjoy. I encourage everyone to take a look at these events and choose a few they want to attend.”
“Let’s make this Carnival season a safe and fun celebration of life, among the friends and neighbors we get to do life with, and embrace the unique spirit of Hattiesburg,” Barker added.
