Hattiesburg, Mississippi – This weekend, the Hattiesburg Police Department and the City of Hattiesburg will assist in a large turbine transport through Downtown Hattiesburg.

Due to the nature of the transport, several traffic accommodations are being made to help it take place as safely and swiftly as possible.

• On Saturday, Feb. 27, West Pine Street – between Hemphill and Hardy Streets – will close at 7 a.m. for the third-party to make temporary road accommodations for the transport. This closure will be reopened on Sunday, Feb. 28 when the transport is complete.
• On Sunday, Feb. 28,  the transport will begin at 7 a.m. and rolling closures will accompany it along the route. The route includes: Cypress Ave -> Edwards St -> James St Hall Ave -> 6th Ave -> W Pine St / W Pine St (wrong way) -> Mobile St -> E Front St.

The estimated completion time for the transport is by 8 p.m. on Sunday night.

All motorists in the area or who anticipate traveling in the area should make alternate plans if necessary.
