Hattiesburg, Mississippi – On Tuesday, Dec. 11, Mayor Toby Barker was joined by Hattiesburg Fire Chief Sherrocko Stewart to swear in three lateral transfers: Firefighter Bobby Wells, Firefighter Daniel Moore and Firefighter David Holbrook.
Wells and Moore come to the Hattiesburg Fire Department from McComb. Wells has four years of experience. Moore has two. Holbrook comes to the department from Meridian with two years of experience.
“Increasing our public safety manpower has been a priority for the city in 2018,” said Barker. “I can’t say enough about the work that our fire department leadership and our City Council have done to boost incentives – whether in pay, education opportunities or new facilities – while also streamlining administration to contain costs.”
This brings manpower numbers to 114 for the Hattiesburg Fire Department.
