Position: Facility Maintenance Repairer (FMR)

Division: Construction

Rate of Pay: $15.50/hr. + (DOE)

Nature of Work:
This is semi-skilled maintenance and repair work. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of City properties. Work may at times include painting, cement, electrical, or landscape duties. Work will consist of new construction and repair/maintenance of existing structures. Work is supervised and evaluated by a maintenance supervisor.

Examples of Work:
• Replaces broken windows.
• Repairs doors, floors, roofs, ceilings, locks, counters, windows, etc.
• Install doors and hardware for door cabinets, etc.
• Paints walls, trim, cabinets, etc.
• Performs carpentry work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Ability to use hand tools; knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions.
• Requires good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and knowledge of carpentry procedures.
• Must have and maintain a valid Mississippi Driver’s License.
