Position: Equipment Operator/Bucket Truck
Department: Parks & Recreation
Division: Urban Forestry
Rate of Pay: $17.00/hr

Nature of Work:
This is a skilled position on the Tree Crew. Candidate should be skilled in equipment operation including bucket truck, chainsaws and other Urban Forestry equipment. Daily tasks include equipment and chainsaw operation and maintenance, tree work, trimming/pruning, hazard abatement and tree planting. Work well with crew, follow safe work practices.

Examples of Work:
• Tree removal, trimming and planting
• Operate equipment – bucket truck, chipper, stump grinder, knuckle-boom loader, bobcat, etc.
• Maintain safe work environment for crew and public
• Storm damage and debris clean up
• Possible weekend or night call outs for tree emergencies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Desirable Qualifications:
Valid Mississippi Commercial Driver’s License (Minimum of Class B)
Tree work experience of two (2) years or more, preferred
Equipment operation experience including chainsaws, bucket truck, loaders, dump trucks, etc.
High school diploma or GED
Good communication
