Nature of Work:
This is manual labor work. The incumbent will be exposed to outdoor extreme summer and winter weather conditions. The primary job role is mowing Bobby L. Chain Municipal Airport with a large tractor and bush hog mower. The incumbent will operate other pieces of equipment needed to perform duties they are assigned such as weed eater, rake, shovel, pressure washer, blower, and other specialized equipment. The incumbent will be expected to comply with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Maintains the lawns and grounds for Bobby L. Chain Municipal Airport.
• Cuts grass, pulls weeds, applies fertilizer and insecticide as directed.
• Mulches trees and plants.
• Picks up and removes paper/trash/debris on lawns and grounds.
• Performs preventive and routine maintenance and service on vehicles and equipment to ensure proper working condition.
• Completes vehicle and equipment maintenance reports.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of experience and/or training involving general grounds maintenance desired. Valid Mississippi driver’s license.
