Position Title: Crew Worker/Meter Reader
Department: Water & Sewer
Division: Customer Accounts

Rate of Pay: $15.00/hr.

Nature of Work:
This is semi-skilled manual labor. Work schedules require after-hours and on-call shifts. The physical demands of this position require the ability to walk, stand, lift and reach. Incumbent must be capable of maintaining courteous and professional working relationships with citizens and co-workers at all times. Work is performed outdoors, in all weather conditions. Assignments frequently include the use of standard or specialized hand tools, power equipment, or other devices. All work is performed under the direction of a Crew Supervisor.

Examples of work:
• Locates water meters and service lines.
• Connects and removes access to water services.
• Turns off, locks, and plugs meters.
• Inspects and reads meters.
• Meets with customers regarding meters and services.
• Completes work orders and accurate documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Good communication skills and proper use of the English language.
Must have and maintain a valid Mississippi Driver’s License.
High school diploma or GED.
