Position: Assistant Division Manager – Fleet Maintenance

Rate of Pay: $32,000 – $36,000 annually
Nature of Work:
The incumbent is responsible for managing Fleet Maintenance and Repair services for the police department. The incumbent supervises inmate labor and other labor as assigned. Incumbent will operate a wide variety of vehicles such as cars, small trucks, vans, buses, ATVs, motorcycles, and both flat bed as well as enclosed trailers. Incumbent will be required to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and/or during emergencies.
Examples of Work:
• Maintains efficient care and maintenance of police motor vehicles.
• Coordinates the repair of motor vehicles (City mechanics) with outside vendors.
• Operates computer, fax, and other office equipment.
• Prepares and presents reports on fleet status, both verbal and written as required.
• Assists in managing vehicle replacements, making recommendations for the removal of vehicles from inventory through disposal as surplus or sale by auction.
• Conducts repair and preventive maintenance or quality assurance/inspection.
• Works with division and unit supervisors to resolve problems concerning the repair/maintenance or inspection/quality control of department vehicles.
• Acts as the liaison and informational conduit for department safety reports to Risk Management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must have Automotive Mechanics and Fleet Maintenance experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
