There is never a shortage of things to do or see in the Hub City. If you are looking for something to do, we encourage you to sift through the many events listed here.

If you would like to add your own event, you can do that by clicking here. This form is for promoting an event via the calendar, only. It is not for reserving community centers or spaces. Please see the following guidelines for posting requirements:

Listed events must have a point of contact or link for more information (website, ticketing vendor or Facebook event).

All events will be submitted for review before being published, with approval in 24-48 hours. If an event is not approved, the point of contact listed on the event will be contacted.

A photo for uploading is helpful, but not required.

All events should take place in the City of Hattiesburg.

The City of Hattiesburg reserves the right to approve or deny any event listing and to edit the content submitted for final publication.

The posting of an event does not provide for the event being endorsed through the status of being “city-sanctioned” (approval needed by the City Council) or “city-sponsored.” However, both city-sanction and city-sponsored events will also be listed here.

NOTE: Submitting an event for publication on the calendar is not the same as filing for a permit to host an event that requires the use of city property, streets or needs traffic support. For permits, you’ll need to submit a permit application to the Hattiesburg Police Department. The application can be downloaded here: Event & Parade Permits.

Seriously, who doesn’t love beer and donuts?? AND SLOTHS!

Sleep late, wander in for donuts and beer (or root beer), hang out with sloths…what’s not to love?!

Our 0.5k ‘racecourse’ is specifically designed for the SLOTH in YOU!

Carb-load at donut stations and refuel at beer hydration stations along the route. Participate as a stand-alone sloth, or bring a group and make it a team sport!

There will be special prizes for costumes, team outfits, and other creative “slothing” garb, so we encourage you to get creative and SHOW US YOUR BEST SLOTH!

Entry levels accommodate ‘plain-glazed’ budgets all the way to a full-on binge at the VIP level, but hurry…there are limited VIP tickets available!

All Tickets Purchased Online Include: Race Number, Work Excuse, 2 Beer Samples, 2 Donuts, Unlimited Rides on the Train & Carousel, Games, and MORE!

EARLY SLOTH – $15 (Online/Early)

TEAM SLOTH – $40 (Team of 4) +$10 (Each Additional Person added to Team)

VIP SLOTH – $50 (VIP) Includes a sloth selfie with MAPLE!
* There will be a RAFFLE for 5 Additional Slots for Regular Ticket Holders! Maple Selfie Raffle Tickets will be $5 Each, Available only at the Event!

LAZY SLOTH CABANA – $75

Who wants to reserve a Cabana? There are only 4 Available! Cabana rental for Sloth-A-Thon includes a custom cabana sign and a giant stuffed SLOTH!

LATE SLOTH – $18 (Available at the Gate)

THEY WILL SELL QUICKLY, so this is the only time we will encourage you to RUN.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and “race” start time is 7:00 p.m.

There will be games (giant beer pong, cornhole, giant checkers, and MORE!)

The slothy splash pad will be open for some extra slippery slothing fun!

More beer and food will be available for purchase, so come hungry and THIRSTY!

Merchandise will be available prior to event at the Hattiesburg Zoo Gift Shop, and available at the event!

All proceeds support the expansion of our sloth exhibit.
