If you would like to add your own event, you can do that by clicking here. This form is for promoting an event via the calendar, only. It is not for reserving community centers or spaces. Please see the following guidelines for posting requirements:

Listed events must have a point of contact or link for more information (website, ticketing vendor or Facebook event).

All events will be submitted for review before being published, with approval in 24-48 hours. If an event is not approved, the point of contact listed on the event will be contacted.

A photo for uploading is helpful, but not required.

All events should take place in the City of Hattiesburg.

The City of Hattiesburg reserves the right to approve or deny any event listing and to edit the content submitted for final publication.

The posting of an event does not provide for the event being endorsed through the status of being “city-sanctioned” (approval needed by the City Council) or “city-sponsored.” However, both city-sanction and city-sponsored events will also be listed here.

NOTE: Submitting an event for publication on the calendar is not the same as filing for a permit to host an event that requires the use of city property, streets or needs traffic support. For permits, you’ll need to submit a permit application to the Hattiesburg Police Department. The application can be downloaded here: Event & Parade Permits.

Petal Jaycees, a chapter of Junior Chamber International, is excited to invite our community to join us for the Petal Jaycees Veterans Day Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, November 11th. Join us for a flavorful journey as chefs battle it out to be the chili champion. Your $5 entry fee gets you unlimited chili tastings! This event will take place at the Petal Civic Center (712A S. Main Street, Petal), 11am – 1:30pm. Drinks will be available for purchase. All tickets and sales are cash only. Don’t miss the chance to spice up your day and savor a variety of mouthwatering chilis. Bring your friends, bring your appetite! All proceeds benefit Disabled Veterans of Hattiesburg – Chapter 62 and the Petal Jaycees. Disabled Veterans of Hattiesburg – Chapter 62 serves Petal veterans by appointment at the Petal Center for Seniors & Veterans.

Registration to participate in the Chili Cook-Off is a non-refundable $15 fee. Participants are asked to bring two large crockpots of chili, enough to feed 15-20 people. Register by Wednesday, November 8th using this form: https://tinyurl.com/yc6525h3.

The mission of JCI USA and Petal Jaycees is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 40 is welcome to join the chapter. Petal Jaycees gives members the tools they need to build bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, civic engagement, and international connections.
