Hub City Maker’s Market is a monthly market in Town Square Park that allows local artists to sell their work and to teach others about their skills. We strive to eradicate “starving” artists and give artists a chance to make a living or earn extra income through selling their work. We also hope to help the local economy and to promote local businesses in the Hattiesburg area.
We will have many talented artists there as vendors. The types of art you’ll see at our market includes leather, jewelry, paintings, pottery/ceramics, textile arts, knitting/crochet, and much more. We’ll also have food from local vendors.
We will have live music from The Social Mosaic this month!
The event is family and pet-friendly, so bring your family, friends, and furry family members along! Attendance is free.
The market is open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Since it’s October we’ll also have a costume contest, we encourage everyone to come show off their costumes, handmade or store-bought!
In the case of bad weather, the market may be canceled. The decision to cancel will be made no sooner than the Thursday or Friday before the market.
In the case of cancellation, all vendors will be contacted and posts will be made on social media to alert everyone of cancellation.

Note on music and entertainment: Please respect the choice of DJs and musicians that the directors choose. The directors put a lot of thought into choosing the right musicians and DJs for the market, and a lot of care is taken in choosing playlists that are as family-friendly as possible. We try to make sure it’s something most of our vendors and attendees will enjoy, but of course, not everyone enjoys the same music. There’s no way to make every single person happy. However, please respect the director’s choice and understand that you only have to hear it for a few hours.
Do not raise your voice or confront a DJ or musician about turning their music down. If you have an issue with the volume please politely talk to a director and they will deal with it.
Recently we’ve had problems with people treating the directors, DJs, and musicians very rudely. We’re very fortunate to have entertainment that sets up all day in the heat, freezing cold, and sometimes a little rain and we believe they deserve to be thanked and treated with respect while they are guests at our market regardless of your own personal taste in music. It reflects badly on the event as a whole when people disrespect them.
We directors spend a lot of time choosing our entertainment and it’s disheartening when people respond so rudely. Please give constructive criticism instead of rudely telling us to stop playing the music, never to invite a musician again, etc.
At the end of the year we’ll send out a market review document where all vendors and attendees can rate different aspects of the market and if the majority dislikes our entertainment choices we will work to choose different entertainment next year that more people will enjoy.
