Position: Equipment Operator

Rate of Pay: $16.00/hr.

Nature of Work
Reporting to General Manager of Grounds, or another appointed designee. The equipment operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of multiple pieces of equipment. The primary job role is mowing right-of-ways with large tractor and bush hog mower. The incumbent will operate other pieces of equipment needed to perform duties they are assigned. May be required to work certain city events.

Examples of Work
• Follows a daily schedule.
• Drives and operates tractor and cutting equipment, drives to and from assigned routes directed by General Manager.
• Drives truck with trailer.
• Picks up litter and debris as needed.
• Abides by all implemented safety standards.
• Participates in general maintenance of equipment.
• Performs bush hog mowing along city streets, interstates, parks, right of ways and lots.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Valid MS driver’s license. Valid Class A license is desired. Must be able to operate City trucks and tow a trailer
