Position: Crew Worker

Rate of Pay: $13.00/hr

Nature of Work:

This is a skilled position in which the candidate will be led by a Crew Foreman to maintain the City’s rights-of-way, drains, ditches and alleys. The Crew Worker works regular hours year-round with occasional overtime when the workload demands it, and occasional night work, but no shift work is required. The Crew Worker will be on call only in the event of a storm, natural disaster or emergency. 100% of work required is outdoors in all weather conditions. The Crew Worker may be exposed to chemical and/or hazardous materials on a daily basis.

Example of Work:

· Landscape or maintain City right-of-way using hand or power tools or equipment.

· Perform all tasks of operations including but not limited to mowing, trimming, blowing, leaf and debris removal, edging, raking and picking up paper/litter.

· Employees will be responsible for loading and unloading equipment daily.

· Employee will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of their equipment daily.

· Employee will report damaged or broken equipment to Crew Foreman and /or management immediately.

· Proper use of safety equipment is required at all times.

Desirable Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or G.E.D, or better is required. The Position requires the person to have the skills necessary for proper use of assigned equipment. Candidate must possess good oral and written skills. Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, elected officials and other City employees. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
