Hattiesburg, Mississippi – Midnight on Front Street, Hattiesburg’s New Year’s Eve Celebration, is known for its iconic Hub Sign Drop, a dual fireworks show and music shared by Hattiesburg native DJ Kujho. This year, event organizers are adding a new dynamic to the event lineup with a live music stage featuring local favorites, the PineBelt Pickers, and the Stooges Brass Band from New Orleans.
“Live music was a requested addition to the lineup of festivities from past New Year’s Eve events,” said Hattiesburg Mayor Toby Barker. “In addition to DJ Kujho keeping the party moving throughout the night, we’re excited to feature a staple form Hattiesburg’s music scene, as well as bring in a new name from New Orleans. Thanks to Jones Companies, The ADP, Payne Companies and SouthGroup Insurance, we feel like we have a diverse lineup of great talent to take us into 2022.”
The event will begin at 8 p.m. in Downtown Hattiesburg, with the Hub Sign Drop taking place at the intersection of Front Street and Main Street. The lineup for the night includes:
- 8 PM – Event begins
- 8:30 PM – PineBelt Pickers
- 9:30 PM – DJ Kujho
- 10 PM – Stooges Brass Band
- 11:30 PM – DJ Kujho
- 11:50 PM – Mayor Barker makes remarks
- 12 AM – Hub Sign Drop + Dual Fireworks, DJ Kujho plays through 1 AM
